Ice Harvest

The annual Ice Harvesting event opens the progtam season at Howell Living History Farm.
Visitors help farmers cut, chop and shave ice, fill an ice house, and make ice cream from 10 am to 4 pm.
Conditions permitting, visitors can also join the harvest crew on the frozen pond and take a turn using an "ice saw," and moving the ice blocks to the ramp to the icehouse.The farm is an educational facility open to the public that preserves and interprets farming life and processes from the era of 1890-1910.

Major portions of George Washington’s Continental  Army
camped here during the winter of 1777-78.
Congress passed a resolution adopting the new stars and stripes as our official flag on June 14, now known as Flag Day. The first time it was officially flown was here at the Middlebrook Encampment.
That event is celebrated annually on the Fourth of July.
